Here’s my Pinoy Style version of Banana Tiramisu. This recipe is delicious and easy to make dessert cake layered with banana bread brushed with coffee, whipped cream mixture and banana slices, covered with cocoa powder on top.


  • 4 medium ripe bananas
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup buttermilk (½ cup fresh/evaporated milk + ½ tbsp vinegar)

Tiramisu Filling

  • 2 cups whipping cream (chilled)
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee powder
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • cocoa powder

  • Mash the bananas using a fork. Set aside
  • To make the buttermilk, combine fresh milk and vinegar. Mix and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, sift and combine together the dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt. Mix to combine and set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the wet ingredients: sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla extract, buttermilk and mashed bananas.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients. Mix until well combined. Do not over mix.
  • Pour the batter on a loaf pan with parchment paper. Tap few times to remove air bubbles.
  • Bake on a preheated oven at 350 F / 180 C for about 35 minutes or until the toothpick inserted in the center becomes clean.
  • Combine hot water and coffee powder. Mix and set aside.

How to Make Tiramisu Filling

  • In a large bowl, put the chilled whipping cream. Beat on medium to high speed until stiff.
  • Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Beat until well combined.


  • In an 8 x 8″ baking dish, place a layer of sliced banana bread.
  • Brush the top with coffee mixture.
  • Put whipped cream mixture.
  • Arrange slices of banana.
  • Put another layer of banana bread. Brush the top with coffee.
  • Put the whipped cream on top.
  • Allow to chill overnight before serving. Sprinkle top with cocoa powder.
