For Marinate

  • 4 pcs chicken fillet
  • 2 tbsp garlic, minced
  • ¼ tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • ½ tsp salt

For Batter

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tbsp drinking water
  • pinch of ground black pepper

For Coating

  • 2 cups bread crumbs (add more if needed)

  • Cut the chicken into thin slices.
  • For Marinate: In a bowl, combine the chicken, minced garlic, salt, ground black pepper, vinegar and oyster sauce. Mix well until combined. Marinate for at least an hour or overnight.
  • For Batter: In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, baking powder, garlic powder, paprika and ground black pepper. Mix until combined. Add egg and water. Mix until well combined. Mix until smooth.
  • After marinating, coat the chicken with the batter. Mix until well combined.
  • Coat all the chicken with bread crumbs.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Deep fry the chicken over medium heat.
  • Turn the chicken over as needed. Cook until golden crisp.
  • Drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • Serve with steamed rice or with your favorite dipping sauce.
  • Enjoy!
